Town of Bodie

Here you can see the modern siding they used. Nothing fancy for them, just cut the bottom off of the 5 gal. can and nail it to the wall.
You can see it was just the town out there, nothing else around. Mono Lake is about 12 miles away as the crow flies.

This is the mine that got the town going. They found silver and gold. During the peak there were about 10,000 people in the town. Now only about 30% of the buildings are still standing.
